Everyone knows that gardenscapes are a waste of time.
So, why is there such a fuss about gardenscapes these days? My suspicion is that it’s all a big joke. The Romans built their houses around natural features, and the Egyptians used gardens to make impressive monuments. People played with the wood just as they do today, and some of the earliest gardenscapes had a real influence on culture. Back then they were made of wood, not plastic as it is today. It seems that it’s something new and different now, though people have been playing with garden toys for hundreds of years. In a society where anything you can dream up in your garden can almost certainly be bought, it’s hard to see how anyone can escape the trap of buying and playing with garden toys.
